Poems

I recently was going through some old papers and found these old poems I wrote back in the day many years ago…actually some as far back as 34 years ago. I probably couldn’t share all of them (too personal and also they are about other people and old girlfriends), but I can probably get away with sharing a few. But keep in mind, my reason for writing these poems (and even a journal) was for therapeutic reasons…I had NO intention of anyone ever seeing them, of course that was 30+ years ago.

Behind The Clown

September 21, 1992September 13, 2018 / Wally Jarratt / Leave a comment

Behind The Clown Probably written when I was between girlfriends at some point, and felling down and out about one of them. Or it could have been after a night out of drinking and partying and then coming home alone. At any rate, this is "Behind the Clown".               … Continue reading Behind The Clown

Letting Us Go

August 4, 1992September 13, 2018 / Wally Jarratt / Leave a comment

Letting Us Go - A poem I wrote about Mom and her decision to send us to a children's home for 3 years...I never showed her this. I wished now I had. I was so proud of her for her decision and thank her EVERY DAY for her undying care and love of ALL of … Continue reading Letting Us Go

Two Faces Of She

December 11, 1990September 13, 2018 / Wally Jarratt / Leave a comment

Two Faces of She was written in December 1990. I think (memories can be fuzzy sometimes)...this poem was written about the moods women have during relationships. I'm sure it was probably at a time where the mood was not the best...and how us guys have trouble figuring our ladies out. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to … Continue reading Two Faces Of She

Poem – Wives

November 18, 1990January 8, 2019 / Wally Jarratt / Leave a comment

Written in November 1990 probably after a night out at the Holiday Inn in Blytheville. This was during a time where most of the ladies I met were married and frequenting the club without their husbands. I can't say I'm proud, but I did have fun.

Sharing Some Poems

March 19, 1986September 13, 2018 / Wally Jarratt / Leave a comment

This one was fairly early and you can tell how bad I am at writing by this first one I'm sharing. But keep in mind, my reason for writing poems (and even a journal) was for therapeutic reasons...I had NO intention of anyone ever seeing them, of course that was 30+ years ago and so … Continue reading Sharing Some Poems
